You forgot the sha'anini tune, didn't you?
Dear SWMSANMG,

Well said morcousw.. the rites are there are no cymbals, so how is it fitting to sing the verses of cymbals?
Dear Mina, I think the proper teaching is no madayeh at all, whether raising of incense, or end of liturgy..

Dear SWMSANMG,
In some people's arrogant attitude, there is no time to learn appropriate hymns, because we know it all.. the examples, or rather the questions you gave, ought to be exceptions but if they were the norm, and no one takes a proper stan…

Great post Thutmose.. the dilemma is that studies say different things unfortunately due to each person's preferences for references.. I will provide a couple of old and well-trusted researches that appear to be rather "un"mutilated by Erian effendi…
Andrew and Fr. Peter,
Andrew's initial question that Mina replied to wasn't only about language.. I guess Mina therefore didn't mean to address that point per se

I'm afraid those aren't strictly correct teachings.. sorry, but is it proper of me to say this about your long life education? Well, I just said it...

DEAr Zoxsasi,
I was never against integration by any means.. I think Indians in the UK struck the right balance.. but we as Egyptians? WE'll only keep debating this forever and a day

That is a good point. I think for the Coptic church, specifically speaking, Egyptians will keep going abroad all the time, and will need to feel at home in their church in the West. Only my personal opinion though...

Dear Remenkimi,
First of all, I struggle to see where the ayin fits in Greco-Bohairic.. secondly, don't understand your statement of old Bohairic being much different to Sa'idic and GB. Not exactly sure to be honest

Dear lankynight,
Thanks dearly.. you hit the nail on the head, as did Remenkimi before, and Mina today... yes it is laziness. Not only on the part of the young, but unfortunately the clergy and the congregation too.. in a COPTIC church.. I don't thi…
Dear Copticandproud and all,
The link that Fr. Peter provided agrees with the teaching I learnt, which I quoted earlier. St. Cyril commentates on Jonah's journey saying "The prophet is sent, and, endowed with irresistible enthusiasm, he sets about h…
